This plugin for Discourse formats Overwatch hero names in posts. It tries to intelligently match hero names in users' posts, including those that are horribly misspelled, correcting their spelling, adding accent marks and other special characters where necessary, and prepending the hero's icon to their name.
See it in action and test it out for yourself on our website.
Add the plugin's repository URL to your container's
app.yml file, for example:
- mkdir -p plugins
- git clone https://github.com/critcola/discourse-overwatch-hero-icons.git
Rebuild the container:
./launcher rebuild app
For the plugin to apply retroactively, you'll need to rebake old posts:
./launcher enter app
The Overwatch Hero Icons for Discourse plugin, developed by Daniel Marquard, uses vector graphics made by DCMJS and Polygonine, packaged into a font by 256kb.
The Overwatch Hero Icons for Discourse plugin is released under the MIT License.
When you type the name of an Overwatch hero in a post, our website will automatically correct the spelling and, most importantly, include the hero's icon! Winston would be so proud.
I have developed this plugin for Discourse, the software we use to run our community website, and released it as a free, open source download, so even a humble Zenyatta could use it.
Test it out in a reply to this thread!
